Do Not Follow the Herd

During this digital era, it has become very apparent that a majority of the people follow whatever trend is going on. I am not saying to fully avoid trends, but avoid the fear of missing out or doing something another way.

I want to try and keep this short and concise. You are your own person, you should be yourself with whatever it is you do. You like a specific genre of movies other don\’t like? You want to post pictures others might cringe at? Whatever it is, you should do it for you. You should stray away from the crowd.

Without sugarcoating anything, doing what everyone else is doing makes you normal, boring and uninteresting. I personally like it when I meet someone who has something going on in their life or have a specific interest that they can educate me on.

Some examples may be the following:

  • History
  • Painting
  • Coffee
  • Skiing

Not everyone is a history enthusiast.
Not everyone is a painter.
Not everyone is a barista.
Not everyone is a skier.

You get the point. Doing something not everyone does makes you interesting. Now, what are some examples of answers of people who have nothing going on?

  • I like movies and TV shows
  • I am on social media
  • I like going out

A majority of us watch movies and TV shows.
A majority of us are on social media.
A majority of us enjoy going out.

You can compare for yourself and see the difference. A lot of people are like sheep, they find comfort in possessing each other\’s likes and dislikes. Do not be a sheep by following the herd. Either stray away, or lead the herd.

  1. I have enjoyed it simple and clear. By following the herd, you will end up in a place determined by the shepherd. Instead, be the leader of your life and lead it to your desired destination
